Is the Chartres-to-Paris walk on your bucket list? This shorter pilgrimage spends two days in Paris, visiting Montmartre, the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, and more. Afterwards, travel to Chartres to visit its magnificent cathedral, housing the veil of Our Lady. Then, embark on the annual 3-day, 65-mile SSPX walking pilgrimage from Chartres to Paris. It is an extraordinary experience to walk, sing, and pray with thousands of other traditional Catholics from around the world, while representing your country and proudly professing your Faith. It is a testimony to our Catholic heritage; a way to thank God for being Catholic, to make reparation, and to ask Him for all our intentions. The 3-day walk is a strenuous one and two overnights are in camping tents. ITINERARY


Day 1. Tuesday, June 3: Flight to Paris

 

Day 2. Wednesday, June 4: Paris

Welcome to Paris! Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic view of this breathtaking city before visiting the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal. Pray before the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Labouré, to whom Our Lady appeared in 1830 and displayed a vision of the miraculous medal. The incorrupt body of St. Louise de Marillac and the heart of St. Vincent de Paul, founders of the Daughters of Charity, also rest in this church. Nearby is the Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul, housing a wax figure of the saint containing his relics. Tonight, enjoy a river cruise along the Seine River before dinner. (BB, D)

 

Day 3. Thursday, June 5: Paris

Today, visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Montmartre, built on the site of the martyrdom of St. Denis, first bishop of Paris, and his companions. In the Basilica, the Blessed Sacrament has been exposed uninterruptedly for adoration since 1885. Then, visit the Church of St. Peter of Montmartre, the oldest surviving church in Paris, where the first vows of the Society of Jesus were taken in 1534. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in this magnificent city. (BB)

 

Day 4, Friday, June 6: Paris – Chartres

This morning, travel to Chartres. After lunch on your own, enjoy a guided walking tour of Chartres downtown. Visit its magnificent Cathedral. Pray before its greatest treasure: the Veil of Our Lady, miraculously preserved during a fire in 1194. Admire the glorious collection of over 150 stained glass windows, illustrating biblical passages and daily life in the 13th century. Dinner and overnight in Chartres. (BB, D)

 

Day 5. Saturday, June 7: SSPX Pilgrimage Chartres to Paris (25 miles)

Join thousands of SSPX pilgrims on the annual Pilgrimage of Tradition from Chartres to Paris (65 miles). Breakfast today is at the hotel. For lunch, bread and water will be provided. For dinner, hot soup and bread are provided. Water is supplied throughout the entire day. Overnight will be in tents along the way (provided); pilgrims must bring their own sleeping bag, a ground tarp, a soup bowl, and a cup/mug for your coffee/milk. (BB)

 

Day 6. Sunday, June 8: SSPX Pilgrimage Chartres to Paris (25 miles)

Continue on the walking pilgrimage. Breakfast is bread with coffee or milk. Overnight will be in tents along the way. Meals as described on previous day.

 

Day 7. Monday, June 9: SSPX Pilgrimage Chartres to Paris (15 miles)

Walk the last leg of the pilgrimage to Paris. Meals as described above. After the final ceremonies, transfer to your Paris hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)

 

Day 8. Tuesday, June 10: Homebound Flight

Transfer to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for your flight home.

This pilgrimage will be accompanied by a priest the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) who will celebrate daily Tridentine Mass.

flight schedule


The group air reservation was made with Delta. The roundtrip flights to Paris (CDG) departs from Newark (EWR) airport. Please do not purchase any connecting domestic or independent international air tickets until we advise that the group is fully formed with a minimum of 20 travelers. The group air schedule could change frequently, if a major change occurs, we will modify the flight schedule.

The current group flight schedule is as follows:

03JUN Delta flight 63 departs Newark (EWR) at 5:00PM and arrives Paris (CDG) at 6:05AM 04JUN
10JUN Delta flight 62 departs Paris (CDG) 12:45PM and arrives Newark (EWR) 2:50PM 10JUN

 

ACCOMMODATIONS


Accommodations for this pilgrimage are in first-class hotels. 

Rooms in double occupancy are for two people to share; they have two twin beds. Rooms in single occupancy have a single bed and are for one person to occupy; a “single supplement fee” is added for single occupancy rooms.

Paris: 2 nights - Marriot Rive Gauche or similar

Chartres: 1 night - Novotel Chartres or similar

Paris: 1 night - Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Marriot Hotel or similar

The pace for this pilgrimage is “on the go” and has an activity rating of strenuous. 

Please note that this trip includes a 65-mile walking pilgrimage from Chartres to Paris, with two overnights in camping tents. Pilgrims should be physically fit and prepared for full-day hikes, walking 12 to 25 miles per day.

  • Non-refundable deposit of $250 pp is due by: February 21, 2025
